vista beta 2 fails install

Vista Beta 2 fails install

I am installing Beta 2 and during the copying phase it fails at 68%. I have tried multiple DVD's and even downloaded a new ISO but still the same effect. Any ideas why this may be happening? I am installing this on a Dell D610.
I am checking to get the exact error message so i can post but I do remember it being very non-detailed.

I had some problems with the install - after two tries I booted into safe mode and install went fine.
I actually did two installs - after the first successful install I had other problems and decided to start again so I reformatted the drive and installed again ...in safe mode with no problems.
Good luck.

Hi After trying for three days, I finally managed to download build 5384 Beta 2 64-bit edition of windows Vista. The ISO checked out and burned successfully to DVD, but when booting it stops after the "Install Now" page and reports "Cannot find information about your hard disks" and returns to the "Install Now" page.
I am using amd64 2800+ socket 754 1Gig RAM GeForce 6600GT 128mb AGP 2x80Gb SATA (RAID 0) 1x120GB IDE Gigabyte GA-K8NS Motherboard with latest BIOS patch (F19) Nforce 3 250 chipset
I
have tried disabling the RAID - which is ok as I am going to install on a 55Gb partition on the IDE drive and even disabling the SATA controller, all to no effect.
Any help would be appreciated :)

Sorry for posting multiple times - every time I tried I got an error saying "you r post was unsuccessful - please try later"!

If I use the X86 version it works fine?

I would guess your downloaded .ISO file is corrupt or incomplete. I have both installed on an MSI K8T800Pro Neo2 in a dual boot configuration and both x86 and x64 installed and are currently working with no problem.

Sorry but NO, the disk isn't corrupted (i used a few downloaded iso (x86, x64), an official Microsoft disk). It didn't work for the moment...i'll continue to install it.

On my install it got as far as "Expanding files" then says the wrong volume is in the drive, however it is asking for the volume lable that is exact as whats in the drive. I will do some more testing. Also can't boot from the 64 bit boot dvd./ comes up with pretty screen and sits idle.

Ok, some news about my Vista bêta 2 install problems. I verified my iso's (i've got the x86 & x64 version) and no problem. I've got the official Microsoft DVD too. I upgraded my Bios, i tested my memory modules (CORSAIR XMS 3200) but no way... After copying the system files and rebooting, Windows crash during the beginning of the setup (STOP 0x0000007E or 0x0000000A). I tried all the DVD, tried to boot directly with DVD, tried to install under XP Pro and XP Pro 64 bits (& didn't forget to give drivers) and crash again :( I will try to disconnect my Soundblaster II ZS and will prey ;)

Ok, i finally found the problems and fix it :) First, i change my Memory voltage from 2.6 to 2.7 Volts (CORSAIR XMS 3200) and now i don't get any errors system (BSOD) during installation. For information, Memtest 86+ and Microsoft memory diagnostic didn't found any errors before i changed the memory voltage. And to finish, i tried to disconnect my 2 HD RAID 0 without disabled RAID in my bios setup, but it was not enough. Disabling RAID in my bios setup was the solution. Now i've installed Windows Vista x64 without any problems. May this tweaks help you ;)
